Privacy policy
What data this website collects, what it's used for, how long it's kept and what your rights are, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
- Manuel, trading as Savage by Manu. Self-employed (eenmanszaak) in the Netherlands, under the small business scheme (KOR). Registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KVK).
- Address: Kinkerstraat 133, 1053 DM Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
- Email for anything privacy-related: manudankloff@gmail.com
What data is collected, and why
- When you apply or message me (WhatsApp, Instagram or email): your message, your number or username, and what you tell me about your goal, where you're at and what you can invest. I use it only to reply, see if the coaching is right for you and set up a call. Legal basis: handling your request and steps prior to a contract that you ask for. For anything about your body or health (weight, injuries…), your explicit consent when you send it.
- Application form. What you tell me in it (your name, email, WhatsApp or Instagram, where you live, where you're at, how long you've been trying, what you've tried, what's stopping you and what you could invest each month) is used only to see if the coaching is right for you and to get back to you. While you fill it in, your answers are saved in your own browser so they don't get lost if you reload, and they're cleared when you close the tab. Legal basis: steps prior to a contract that you ask for when you send it and, if you tell me anything about your body or health, your explicit consent when you send it.
- The newsletter. Only if you tick the newsletter box on the form. What worked for me building muscle, one email a week at most. Legal basis: your consent. Unsubscribe anytime with the link in every email, or just message me. Not ticking the box changes nothing.
- If you start coaching. I use what you share (food logs, training, weight, progress photos) to build your plan and check in with you. Legal basis: our contract and, for health data, your explicit consent. Your progress photos are never published without your permission.
- The calculator does its sums in your own browser. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
- When you visit, the server that hosts the site (Vercel Inc.) keeps technical connection data, such as your IP address, for a short time so the site works and stays protected. It isn't used for anything else.
No automated decisions are made about you and no profiles are built. I don't sell or share your data with anyone.
Who else handles the data
To run all this I use these providers, which process data on my behalf:
- Vercel Inc. (United States): hosts the website.
- Meta Platforms (WhatsApp and Instagram): only if you message me there. Those messages are also covered by Meta's privacy rules.
- Google (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, United States): stores what you send through the application form in a spreadsheet on my account and sends the notice of your application to my Gmail. Also if you email me.
- Substack Inc. (United States): sends the newsletter, only if you sign up.
Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. They do so with the safeguards the GDPR requires: the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or, failing that, the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
The fonts and scripts are hosted on this website itself: nothing is loaded from Google Fonts or other servers.
How long it's kept
- If you message me or apply and we don't end up working together: up to 12 months after our last conversation. Then it's deleted.
- If you start coaching: for as long as it lasts and up to 12 months after it ends, in case you want to pick it back up. Billing records, for as long as Dutch tax law requires (7 years).
- Newsletter: for as long as you're subscribed. When you unsubscribe, I remove your email from the list within 30 days (I may keep only the fact that you unsubscribed, so I don't email you again).
- You can ask me to delete it sooner at any time.
Cookies
This website uses no cookies and no analytics or advertising tools. It only stores in your browser what it needs to work, such as your form answers while you fill it in (cleared when you close the tab). If analytics or an ad pixel are ever added, you'll be told first and asked for your consent.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or take away your data, object to its use or ask for it to be limited, and withdraw your consent at any time (this doesn't affect what happened before). Email me at manudankloff@gmail.com and I'll reply within a month.
If you think your rights haven't been respected, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), or to the data protection authority where you live.
